- that this is the longest thing I have ever written; it is over twice the length of my English Honours thesis

- that three of my five writing buddies reached 50,000 words! WELL DONE!!!!!!!!

- having a sore wrist for several days, which hampered writing
- Getting so far behind that it would have been really hard to catch up, though still possible

Next year?
- I want to try again.
- Now that I've done it once and learnt a bit about it, I think I'm more likely to reach 50,000 if I try again.

Round 8: chain 3, and into the same stitch make (1dc, ch1, 2dc) (to make a shell).
Then, sk2st, dc in each of the next two stitches, sk2st, *(2dc, ch1, 2dc) into next st,
sk2st, make dc in each of next two stitches, sk2st, repeat from *, join with a slst into the
third turning chain. (12 shells, 24 dc)
Round 9: slst into top of first dc, sc into the chain-space, chain 3 and into same chainspace
(dc, ch1, 2dc), make a fpdc around each of the two dc stitches from the previous
round, *(2dc, ch1, 2dc) into next chain-space, fpdc around each dc from the previous
round, repeat from *, join with a slst into third turning chain (12 shells, 24 fpdc)

ReplyDeleteI am sorry to say that I do not have the means to make a video tutorial.
It is very hard to know exactly which bit you are struggling with when you copy and paste so much of the pattern. If it is the fpdc (front post doube crochet), this is a good video tutorial: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yIu4HfUpvsY
Other than that, all I can suggest is following the pattern step by step, remembering that instructions in brackets all get done in the same stitch.
