You may remember that a year ago (nearly to the day!) I shared a pattern for a scarf.
Well, finally, here is a beanie pattern to match! It was tested by some wonderful ladies, who I appreciate immensely.
The beanie comes in a range of sizes, looks good and is quick to make. And with the scarf... well... gorgeous ;-)
You can find the pattern for the Urban Shells Beanie here on Ravelry, or you can download a pdf from my "Crochet Patterns" page.
I hope you all love the pattern, because I know I do!

I'm so glad you liked it! Thanks for leaving a comment telling me :D
DeleteI absolutely love this pattern!! Admittedly, I'm a newbie to this whole crocheting gig. I'm stuck on round 9 and all the rest of the rounds. Do I have to repeat round 8 between each round 9?. I do not have any dc to create the fpdc into. Help!!
ReplyDeleteHi Sabrina, thank you! I have looked through the pattern to try to figure out what you are stuck on. You do not repeat round 8. After the first round 9 you work the fpdc into the fpdc's (not dc's) of the previous rounds. Hope that helps! Kathy
DeleteSo cute!!! Thank you so much! I plan on making one of these tomorrow! I have been searching for a famine beanie!
ReplyDeletehey, i just hopped by via pinterest :-) i´ll be back for sure! nice hat, i´ll make one for me :-)

Just what I was looking for! Something nice that I can make for my sis-in-law for Christmas. I'm going to make this hat and the matching scarf. She'll love it. Thanks for the pattern!
ReplyDeleteI found your link on Pinterest while wandering around. This hat is EXACTLY what I was looking for! Thank you so much for sharing ;-)
ReplyDeleteI love love love this hat and I tackled it last night (I'm a beginner). I was wondering if you could clarify something for me. I made the infant size, and I'm stuck at how to end round 8 and begin 9. "Join with a slip stitch into the third turning chain" -- not quite sure what you mean by third turning chain. I tried slip stitching into the top of the next shell, but then I'm not really close enough to the next double crochet to continue on with the instruction to "slip stitch into top of first double crochet." I suppose it's possible that my round didn't end up exactly where it should....but it looks okay to me, and I have the right amount of shells. Can you help, or am I hopelessly lost?
ReplyDeleteThe "third turning chain" refers to the 3 chains (ch3) you made at the start of the round (this ch3 made up the first dc for the first shell of the round). Do a slst in that, then also in the next st, then in the top of the next shell, then ch3 (beginning the next round).
DeleteSorry for the late reply! My poor bloggiewoggie was swamped with spam!
Where is the link to download the pattern?
ReplyDeleteYou can find the link to the pdf by going to this address: http://abeautifulramble.blogspot.com.au/p/beautiful-crochet.html
DeleteI made a couple as gifts for Christmas this year and they turned out great, though the "adult" pattern was really large. I gave my small-headed sisters the child size instead and they fit just fine. Beautiful pattern, thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteWas your gauge the same as mine? I know that I can't even fit the child size on my head at all, to matter how much I pull! Maybe I have a huge head ;)
DeleteI am glad you like my pattern, thank you!
Gorgeous hat, thanks so much! I have a very small business selling a few crocheted goodies and was wanting to sell this gorgeous hat too. Happy to post a link to your pattern.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Fran
Hi Fran, thank you!
DeleteYou are welcome to sell the hat, just link to it as you suggest.
